Introducing one of our newest Kambrians — Ruchi! Read on to learn about why you don’t want her to get too hungry, why she won’t forget your birthday and how she was interested in the aviation world from a young age.

Where are you from?

I am originally from India. I Came to the Netherlands in 2017 and have been living here since.

When did you first join Kambr?

September 1st, 2022.

What’s your role at Kambr?

I’ve joined Kambr as a Lead Quality Automation engineer. My goal is to design, create, test and deploy effective Test automation solutions for Software and eventually ensure improved Product quality.

What’s something you want your colleagues to know about you?

I lose my mind when my stomach is empty so, dear friend, if you see me getting angry as mealtime is delayed, don’t think I am upset. Try feeding me with a snack instead 😊

What keeps you busy outside of work?

My 3-year-old daughter. She has my whole heart.

What’s your superpower?

I’m observant and I have a very accurate memory; like how I remember the birthdays of random people from 5 years ago. Because of this superpower I also mostly end up winning arguments with my husband. LOL!

What makes you happy?

Chocolates, traveling, listening to music, sunsets and dance!

What makes you nervous?

Heights but, I also dream about skydiving someday.

What are you proud of?

My family and friends.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

I am a future-oriented person and seems I am always thinking. Once I was told by someone that to better preserve our happiness, we must all find a way to stop worrying about the future, dwell more in present, and be sure of our ability to handle whatever the future will throw at us.

What’s one thing you love to do?

Traveling — I have the desire to see the world and have new experiences. I love to make memories and capture them so I retain them all my life.

One of the best times of my life was when I visited Austria and was able to experience the beauty of the Alpine landscape.

For me traveling is an essential part of life and I love to plan my travels in advance so I have something to look forward to.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to join the India Air force, and it has been my one and only dream since my childhood. Probably because my dad was in the Air force and I was very much fascinated with the uniforms and badges which used to give me a will to do something.

Have you ever missed a flight (and why)?

I once nearly missed a flight at the New Delhi airport in India several years ago, whilst talking to other guests and the monitors were not within sight. It was a silent airport and there was a last-minute gate change. Since then, I always use smartphone apps that send out gate alerts.

What’s your favorite/dream destination to fly to?

Iceland — I want to explore ice caves, visit waterfalls, go glacier hiking, see the Northern Lights and relax in the blue lagoon.

What’s your favorite aviation-related film or TV show?

Manifest

Window seat or aisle seat?

Of course, Window seat. It simply doubles up the joy of traveling.
